Modify Reports - Selecting an Output Format

The Output Format tab in the header defines what type of report output will be generated. It also provides the option to Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) the output to your company server and/or set email notification when the download request is completed.

Reports can be requested in the following formats:

§       Online Presentation - default format, displayed onscreen

§       Formatted Excel Report - Microsoft® Excel file with all formatting as displayed onscreen

§       Standard Excel Format - Microsoft® Excel file without onscreen formatting

§       Comma (no headings) - (CSV) (Comma Separated Values) - for Microsoft® Excel

§       Comma (with headings) - (CSV) (Comma Separated Values) - for Microsoft® Excel

§       Pipe (with headings) – .txt file

Note: Pipe (with headings) output format is valid up to 64k lines of data; the system will default to Tab Delimited format over 64k lines.

§       Tab Delimited - .txt file

§       PDF Landscape – Portable Document Format

§       PDF Portrait – Portable Document Format

§       XML – XML file

Note:  For Online Presentation or Formatted Excel Report formats, you can add 30 Columns to the report. For PDF format, you can add 12 Columns to the report.  All other formats have no limitation.

 

To select a report format:

1.      Click the Output Format tab header. The Output Format dropdown list is displayed in the activity area on the page.

2.      From the Output Format dropdown list, select the required format.

3.      Check the Zipped checkbox if you want the output format you have selected to be zipped. eBill will compress the files according to the following size specifications:

·       Files between 5MB to 2GB will be compressed via zipped (.zip) format

·       Files larger than 2GB will be compressed via gzip (.gz) format

Please use the appropriate zip utility to open your files.

Note: Files less than 5MB will not be zipped.

4.      Check the Notify Me When Download Request is Completed checkbox if you want to receive email notification upon completion of the current report download.

Note: You can continue customizing the report by clicking another tab header, or you can return to the default activity area by clicking the Value Selections tab header. Upon clicking on the View Report button, any output format other than online presentation will be run and can be found under Reports History.
